Remixing Data Visualization
Project type: Infographic
|This infographic is the outcome of “Remixing data visualization” workshop I attended at Resonate 2014 in Belgrade. The visualization compares the sovereign debt exposure of sixty-one European banks to the twenty-nine nations of the old continent.||Questa infografica è il risultato del workshop “Remixing data visualization” che ho seguito al Resonate 2014 a Belgrado. L’infografica compara il debito pubblico di 29 nazioni e il grado di copertura del debito da parte di 61 banche europee.|
During the workshop participants will learn how to create multilayered visual storytelling in static data-visualization, how to work under graphic boundaries and constraints, how to get visually inspired by abstract art, musical scores, architectural drawings and scientific images.” – Accurat.
One of the main objectives was to reach a “stratification of information”, or the insertion of multiple reading levels that necessarily require a slow reading, providing more information. The printed display is large enough to include all the information without overlapping. The radial arrangement of banks and connectors has been a critical issue. I created the exact position using excel charts and tracing the shapes (graphic process using code would take too much time).
If you want more informations about this project I wrote an article for Visual Loop.
